You look like a ghost

sound like a ghost

haunting the corner of my eye

I turn my head to find you

not there,

as if you never were

Were you

not a ghost

or were you

never near?

Like my sanity?

Were you ever here?

My Lonely Ghost

From My Other Blog My Enduring Bones

When my mind chooses to wander

on it’s own

I go back

to my childhood home

that sits above a haunted Valley

where ghosts live in the trees and the cemetery that overlooks the Ocean

is not quiet and the dead do not sleep.

A dreadful apparition, faceless, shrouded in shadows,

stands at my bedroom window,

by my aged dolls and my toy dog

with the crooked neck

as it waits

for the child it haunted this home

to return.

I miss you my unchanging revenant

and one day

maybe one evening

I will  return

  we will bedevil the night

Darlene Murphy Goes To Work

Was there more to life then getting up and going to work and coming back home at the end of the day and sitting around for a couple of hours and going back out and doing it all over again?

Darlene Murphy used to hope there would be a break in that dull routine, just one little crack that would allow her to break out and escape and maybe see a little more, do something extra like get her nails done or maybe stop off at that bakery and try one of those cupcakes that had a small strip of candied bacon on the top.

It never happened though- not for Darlene Murphy who spent her nights working to make ends meet and to keep body and soul together just so she could do it all over again the next day.

Something had to change and on a Saturday it did.

On that  evening on her way to work, she stopped by the closed for the evening art gallery on third and pressed her face up against the glass.

Ghostly sculptures haunted the dimly lit gallery and Darlene, who didn’t like sculptures of any kind found herself not hating these.

These sculptures were marble- twisted and tortured until they were forced into delicate forms that hinted at the human shape. The act of creating these figures must have been brutal.

Darlene could appreciate that. She understood it.

She held her pale hands up to her face.  ” If you could talk ” she told them ” I’d be a dead woman.”

Darlene put her hands down and said to the spot in the window where her reflection should have been, ” Again.”

IBMC #04: Hunt a Haiku Challenge Haiku 02

Run Bonnie Run!

The only good use for Go Pro cameras is using them on your pets.

Case in point:

This Oscar winning performance in an action film was captured on Go Pro and stars Bonnie The Dog.

The best part of this video is watching Bonnie’s eyes shift from right to left and of course watching her family trying to catch up with her.

Second to that- someone set this to music and it is PAWESOME.

The Fallen Tree

“If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”

I miss the days when social media was fun.

I miss having my  blogs be the first place I went to when I wanted to talk about what was going on in my world or where I went to share my ideas.

Now I  of mindlessly trudge to Facebook and post things because that’s where people go to talk and socialize. I guess that’s ok if you’re a shut in, or you work from home or if you’re living in a place where you haven’t exactly found a way to fit into the community around you.

None of those things apply to me.

But I guess my fear is, if you don’t belong to Facebook do you exist?
